You're probably right about that. However, many of these 'confident' people also make claims, and when they are said in a very confident way, people normally accept them as truth.

And then there's me.

I cross question, cross check, and I miss nothing. I have exposed many of these 'confident' people to have no competence. They're all 'swaggers.'
