You’re not up to date. The Tavistock child gender clinic was closed a month ago. And very, very young children are going through gender change – as a result of decision making by others.

July 2022

“The NHS is to close the UK's only dedicated gender identity clinic for children and young people. Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust has been told to shut the clinic by spring after it was criticised in an independent review. The changes will take place after an independent review, led by Dr Hilary Cass, said the Tavistock clinic needed to be transformed.”

‘She said the current model of care was leaving young people "at considerable risk" of poor mental health and distress, and having one clinic was not "a safe or viable long-term option".

“The number of children and young people referred to the service grew from 97 in 2009-10 to 697 in 2014-15. But accompanying the increase in numbers was a shift in the type of patients being referred.”

“In 2011, a study began to evaluate the impact of administering puberty blockers to younger children. By 2014, when the study had just finished recruiting its final participants, GIDS lowered the age at which young people could be referred for treatment with blockers from 16 to those in the early stages of puberty.”

“There was no lower age limit as such, but it meant in some instances that children of nine or 10 could now be eligible to be referred for this medical intervention.”

“The review was published in Spring 2019 after the Trust asked its medical director, Dr Dinesh Sinha, to investigate serious concerns about children's welfare raised by staff in an internal report.”

“"Let's pray that I am wrong because if I am not wrong, very many vulnerable children have been very poorly treated and will be left with, potentially, a lifetime of damage here," one says.”

"The reality is, by not doing anything, children are potentially still being medically mismanaged."

“According to the transcripts, these included cases where staff feared a child had suffered sexual abuse or trauma. "In all of my previous work, if you had a concern, you refer them on," it's claimed. And that did not happen."

“'I was brainwashed by the trans community': Detransitioner reveals he regrets having his penis removed and says woke doctors didn't warn him of negative consequences because it would be 'bad for business'

“Going by the name Shape Shifter, the 32-years-old who lives in Massachusetts grew up in a Muslim country in the Balkans where even being gay was frowned upon, but he believed that if he transitioned to female he would finally feel happy with himself. He was given a referral letter by Fenway Health in Massachusetts, which he claims has been taken over by biased pro-trans activists.”

“But soon after the operation was complete in 2015 in his mid-20s, Shape Shifter quickly realized he had made a terrible mistake, and that he was just a gay man who enjoyed presenting in a feminine way.”

“Woman who regrets becoming a transgender male 17 years ago says medical professionals should NOT have helped her to transition - and claims lots of other transgender people are hiding their regrets.”

“A woman who says a sex change from female to male 17 years ago was her 'greatest mistake' claims medical professionals should have spotted that she was not really transgender, and that she was seeking surgery for the wrong reasons. Debbie Karemer, 61, from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, struggled with her sexual identity for years and asked for gender reassignment aged 44, before living as a man for 17 years. But after years of counselling she finally realised she wasn't transgender and is now living as a woman again, while awaiting surgery to reverse the reassignment.”

“'My first thought as I came round was Oh God! What have I done?': Man suing the NHS over trans surgery he bitterly regrets has bravely waived anonymity to share his ordeal.”

“For Ritchie Herron, a bright and articulate civil servant from Newcastle, life over the past four years has become almost unbearable. It takes him ten minutes to empty his bladder, a process as painful as it is slow. Any sex drive is long gone. In fact, he says, his crotch is numb, ‘shell-shocked’ from the damage done to him under the apparent care of the NHS.”

“Battling mental health issues – and after decades of suppressing his homosexuality – Ritchie, 35, had thought the answer was to become a woman. But instead, he says, he was fast-tracked into making ‘the biggest mistake of his life’ and left infertile, incontinent and with ongoing pain.”

The transgender clinic was closed after a follow up of the percentage of people who committed suicide or who were depressed after the operation was investigated. There was a bias to get people assigned to gender reassignment operation as money was made through it. People were encouraged to have these operations when the real issues were mental confusion and (dare I say it without getting suspended from Medium) mental illness. That is what the newspapers are saying in the UK.

I could find many other stories, but it is time consuming. So I have provided a few. You provided a quote from the NHS site – it was hardly telling the truth!
