You're going off the main point. The article was about religion offending people. The person is talking about religion, i.e. a belief in god. Religions like Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, etc.

Let's stick to that topic. Some of us do not want to hear about other people's religions, especially in secular countries.
