You would be correct. Up until fairly recently, it was thought that the left side of the brain dealt with logic and the right brain dealt with creativity. There was also the interpretation that the left brain dealt with the detail but couldn't see the big picture, and the right brain dealt with the big picture but couldn't see the detail (and so often got things wrong).

The latest science says that real intelligence is creative intelligence, and that both right brain and left brain work together, and for that to happen, they have a lot more synapses that connect left and right brain to each other.

This is why you will find that the world's greatest artists not only have talent in particular areas, but they are also intellectually gifted.

I would imagine that as this comes along, different types of tests will come into being. Many doctors now give both left and right brain tests, and they take the common score to be indicative of creative intelligence.
