You so don't read the research, do y ou.

That's completely untrue. All the research indicates that the people who do well in life are the one's who come from rich parents.

I think it's the heigh of presumption to think that because someone didn't succeed, they didn't work hard.

Every bit of research during the past 20 years has put that fable to rest. Success in life depends strictly on whether one had rich parents or not.

That might have been diffrent if one is a baby boomer, but that environment disappeared when Reagan destroyed it.

It's not a matter of disagreeing. The research is there. It has nothing to do with hard work and whatever. There might be one of two people, who through lucky breaks, etc. made it, but virtually all rich people got moeny from somewhere - like parents and ex-husbands, and through inheritance.

You might like to read Capital in the 21st century and see just exactly how many of these people who 'made it' actually inherited a lot of their wealth.
