You have a point. However, it would be incorrect. I read widely. I have read classics from the 16th though the 20th century and I read newspapers from across the world - Germany, France, the UK, the US, Africa, Australia, etc.

Word order in a sentence is the same the world over. It has nothing to do with style. It has to do with grammar.

The Chicago Manual of Style is followed pretty much by all publications.
