Aspiring writers absolutely do aspire to be famous authors - that's what so rediculous about the whole thing. They might not admit it to you, but I know of at least one study that established that this sudden yen for everyone to be writers was a search for fame, i.e. acknowledgement.

And if you'd read the article you would have been aware of the whole story. So sick and tired of people who feel free to comment but don't have all the facts.
