You cannot teach people to reason. That is an outcome of intelligence, and people are born with a particular level of intelligence.

I don't know why three is such a problem with rote learning. That is the way that the human brain evolved. The brain learns and accepts as truth anything that is told to or witnessed or experienced repeatedly.

Nurses would learn to establish the difference between normal and abnormal simply by their teachers explaining it to them - over and over again.
