You can certainly express who you really are online. Just don't expect not to suffer the consequences of who you really are. I have been blacklisted by Medium (although I now note that I'm getting more reads) because people didn't like being told that they couldn't write, and trans people didn't like what I said when I noted that people in the UK weren't cmfortable with self-identifying because heterosexual men took advantage of it to walk into female-only areas.
When I speak, I expect to take responsibiility for what I say. I have never hidden behind a fake identity. I am who I say I am. I have the courage of my convictions.
