You are missing the point, or you don't want to see it. There is a tremendous amount of agreement on what or who is beautiful. Even science acknowledges that. A study about a decade ago found that babies a few weeks old smiled at people with big eyes and high cheekbones but either didn't smile or cried when they didn't (obviously wirh strangers). The study went to many different cultures and countries, and the babies were too young to be influenced.

In architecture and interior design, there is a golden ratio. When buildings use this, they have a lovely feeling.

Various cities, for example, Cape Town in South Africa, repeatedly win first place for being the most beautiful city in the world.

So you prefer old things. Since when is something that is old less beautiful than something that isn't? The crown jewels are old. The Taj Mahal is old. Versailles id old. The Alhambra is old. Millions of people the world over think that those things are beautiful.

In any event I have no idea why you would make your own place beautiful.
