Yes, this is what so many writers are about. Vanity never occurred to me. From a young 10 year old, I simply had something to say. When I won competitions, I took the money (the important thing) and I could never understand why it was so important that other people even mentioned it to me. I couldn't care less if my name is in print or not.

There's a world to save (I've been a climate activist since 1970) and I was anti-apartheid from a young girl because my parents were in the early 50s.

Then, again, I've never been interested in a career. I write simply because it's an easy way to earn a living.
