Yes - successful writers do read. However, most people don't read. Most writers do not read as in 1 book a week or 2 books a week or 7 books a week. Most people read post on the web. But actually reading a book?

You can see it in the flow of language. People who read a lot have picked up the rhythm, and their words are in the right order.

Bill Gates reads a book a day. I read somwhere between 5 and 7 books a week.
