Yes, Ireland is 20% more expensive than the USA. However, one of the points in my requirements is that I must have permission to live there.

There isn't a single country in the world where anyone can go and live just because one wants to. One has to qualify. I don't qualify. I never have. I'm lucky that I won a Green Card originally, and as a result of having a German father, have European citizenship which allows me to live in all EU and EEA countries.

Other than that, it's not possible to live in a country just because one wants to. It's cheaper for me to live in the UK as well.
