It's possible that Putin was upset with America about NATO, but I do think that he is a in a state of Steroid Rage. What he has done and is doing is madness.

I also don't think that Putin cares about democracy. He wouldn't have eleted himself to perpetual government and moved into the Grand Palace. I think he means to be Tsar and restore the emperors or something.

With all of that, I respect Chomsky, but it's possible his old age has made him a bit rigid.

I do disagree with you about progressives. A lot of progressives voted for Trump rather than support liberal candidates.
