Yes, and that's why you managed and were able to. The USA, the UK, and even my native South Africa had mixed economies 60 years ago where college was cheap, there was a good welfare system, and there were plenty of jobs.
The world has changed fundamentally since then, There are no jobs for 25% of humanity as a result of computerisation, and there are only good jobs for 10% of humanity. All the other jobs are badly paid and people are treated very badly. There's a reason that 75% to 95% of people internationally hate their jobs. The idea that it's all one's own fault for not succeeding is highly destructive to all those people who are doing their best and getting nowhere.
The idea that everybody is some super miraculous being and they only have to change their attitude and perception in order to become a billionaire or a famous actress or a brilliant scientist is rediculous.
There are so many factors at play - DNA, childhood envronment, country of birth, political and economical systems, timing, etc.
Belief in things like positive thinking, the law of attraction, Jesus, and other bs, is the reason why 50% of Americans are on antidepressants and are suffering from mental illness. That's what happens when reality conflicts with one's world view.
Here are some recent stories that confirm that success has very little to do with one's attitude and everything to do with one's parents wealth and education.
