Yes, absolutely. I've repeated that so many times. You have to have many platforms, and you have to know many different things - SEO, understand how to assess a platform, etc. Also, one has to understand that luck plays a part.

This is why I'm now going back to fiction. I'm using Medium initially, but am going to transfer to Smashwords and Google Play. Plus I'm going to do a book (print) for Christmas.

All of it is on spec. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
