WTF? I've read many of Julia Quinn's story, and sorry, she does not write about rape. Nor, incidentally, is Lady Danbury black, or the duke, for that matter.

I stopped watching it halfway through the first episode, because I'm tired of TV and movies changing stoires (they spoilt Batman for me as well)
