It is my firm belief that critical thinking cannot be taught.
When professors teach it, they teach people to search for information, check sources, etc. All of that, in today's busy world, is far too time consuming for people to do. And when there are 30 or 40 things to check each day, it is not doable.
People like me, on the other hand, pick it up as we see it. As virtually all my friends are the same, I notice the same thing with them. None of us were taught critical thinking skills.
I, personally, don't believe it's possible to teach critical thinking. I think it's a function of intelligence.
