Why I Won’t and Don’t Use AI

I can see no use for it in my life — it’s that simple.

About four years ago, I was one of the top writers on Medium. That happened without AI. (Screenshot from years ago).

I’ll make this short and sweet.

Have you noticed how many stories there are about how, if one doesn’t learn how to use AI, one will be left behind? Having just read another one of those stories, I’m trying to figure out what I must use AI for. To my mind, Google search is sufficient to find any data

Would you disrespect me if I said I had no idea how to write a prompt, and I had no interest in learning how to write a prompt?

Writers are advised to use AI to help them write articles. I can’t help getting the impression that the people who have to use AI to write couldn’t actually write without AI. Am I missing something here?

During my time here on Medium (and on many other sites during the past 26 years that I’ve been writing on the web), I’ve been perfectly able to write well enough to earn. What is going to happen if I decide not to use AI? Is Skynet going to come after me?

I truly don’t get it.

How is everybody else going to overtake me? I’m not only asking for me. I’m asking for other writers as well.
