Where does he say that Medium is a gamechanger in the industry?

That said, it's the only site where one can make a living as a writer. Writing sites come and go. There have been others where one could earn a living, and some people still earn a living on Hubpages.

This is NOT an editor's platform. This is a readers' platform, and writers write for readers. Why are editors even needed over here?

And if 'rights' are given to editors, why shouldn't they be equal? Again, over and over again, this is not a site that employs writers or editors. This is a content writing site where one takes one's chances. You seem to be treating it as if writers and editors here should be accorded the rights of people who are formally employed.

To put it another way - we are like salesmen who work on commission only.

I don't think Ev Williams knows much about good writing, and that has to be because he doesn't read much. If he read, he would instantly recognzie from the pattern of wording what good writing was. The fact that he employs people that have no idea is indicative of his own lack of knowledge. How can he recognize what a good editor is if he doesn't recongize good writing. So he employs editors that have no idea - I'm talking about the one's he pays.

The level of intelligent reading on medium has about hit rock bottom. Since publications like The Atlantic, New York Times, The Economist, etc have disappeared, it's a mine field trying to find something intelligent to read.

Just to clarify. Are you saying that the articles mentioned in the newsletter are removed from the paywall?
