When I joined Medium, it was not presented as as social network. If it was, I would never have joined. It was presented as a place where readers could find excellent writing. And where I could earn as a writer.

Why do I need a supportive community? In fact, what is a supportive community? And how does a supportive community benefit me?

If you look at all my readers, very few of them are writers. The people who respond to me are readers. I cater to readers - not to writers.

And Medium has only recently become a paltform for wannabe writers. I'll be leaving. I'm going to go back to writing fiction books. It will take a while to transition, but I have no interest in being part of a group of wannabe writers.
