What on earth is a maladaptive evolutionary belief. If something is an evolutionary belief, it took millions of years to get there. It is hardly likely to be maladaptive. That said, I doubt there is such a thing as an evolutionary belief. Evolutionary behavior, yes, but not beliefs.
That said, I hardly think it's going to be easy to eradicate evolutionary behavior in a few generations when it has evolved over millions of years.
Next, check with a psychologist. There is no such thing as emotional intelligence. There is emotional maturity (which most people lack), and there is emotional resilience, which most people also lack. Those are direct results of the modern world in which people no longer struggle to survive. Without struggle and discipline, it is difficult to develop either emotional maturity or resilience. This goes for both sexes.
You also say that "due to financial constraints, many American men hold unrealistic expectations for women to contribute equally to household expenses, cooking, childcare, and housekeeping..."
Whose fault is that?
Women insisted on going out to work. They also insisted on equal pay.
So, if you're a boss, you used to pay a man sufficient money to be able to afford to support a wife and children. Then, women begin to work, and they want to earn the same as men? Well, business owners simply do not want to pay both people enough to support a family, so wages have fallen, so while women nearly earn the same as men, men no longer earn enough to support a family (depending one one's salary).
Also, both men and women have unrealistic expectations (especially in America) about their needs - mansion, new car, prestigious neighborhood, etc.
It is also intriguing that you don't mention the source of these outdate beliefs. They come from religion. This has nothing to do with what you call evolutionary bias. The bias isn't dominant in primitive societies. The bias comes from Abrahamic religions...
