What makes you think that highly intelligent people don't have passion, caring, empathy, and selflessness.

I have no faith whatsoever in the masses. The masses 'groupthink,' are influenced by media, and, like Trump's hoards, are driven by passion.

One does not need empathy in order to figure out a difficult math equation. When something is that complex, one needs a very good brain.

Figuring out how to design a system in which people will not kill each other, how to grow food in sufficient quantities without using fertilizer that kills insects (bees that pollinate is one of them), how to restore the sea, how to live alongside nature without mining her to death, etc do not require passion, caring, empathy, and I'm and selflessness.

The system will need to prevent the abuse of power, the rise of one class above the others, etc.

These are massive engineering and design problems. When you have a huge number of highly intelligent, well educated people working together from all countries, their personal characteristics do not come into the equation. They are figuring out an intellectual problem.

Stupid people end up electing people like Boris and Trump. How do you think they got elected?
