What a load of poppycock. I am 72. I read between 2 and 4 books a day during the years of my education. I still read a book a day. I have read both fiction and non fiction, and there is nothing more frustrating than a pretentious writer.

I am not looking for meaning or feeling when I read. Most people don't. This us why people like James Patterson sell so many books

It is a poor writer who has so little plot to tell that he has to resort to making the reader guess at what he is trying to say.
