Welll,please do explain to me what freedom is. This obsession with 'freedom' that Americans have confounds the hell out of me. I have lived in multiple countries on three continents, and traveled fruther, and I have never been 'un-free.'

Freedom of speech is not the same thing as freedom. Freedom of speech was an outcome of the Enlgihtenment. In those days, if you spoke against the church or the government, you were jailed or executed. It means you have the freedom to speak against the church or the government without consequence. It NEVER meaant people can say what they like.

That said, I am truly fascinated as to what you man by 'true freedom.' Pleaes explain it to me.
