Well, yes, you're giving advice to other people. Don't. People who are geniune readers aren't looking for advice. They are looking for interesting things to read.

You'd have a far better reception if you opened up a publication on nutrition and food. So, for instance, you'd provide a recipe for a food that was strong in B12 plus explain what B12 does in the body.. Same with minerals or plant compounds like allicin in garlic.

You could talk about the quality of protein measured by DIAAS, something most people don't know about.

You're also focusing on you when you write about travel. Writers here on Medium get very offended when I tell them that people aren't interested in you, but basically, they aren't. Are you interested in the lives of other writers? Of course, you're not.

It's certainly okay to use a personal experience in writing about something else, but personal essays do not bring in money. Blogs don't, and that is essentially what a personal essay is.

I checked. I don't think anyone argued with you on your comment. They were responding to what I said. I immediately responded back. :)

I argue with a lot of people who contradict what I say. I have the knowledge to do so. When I write, i check everything I say against abstracts and reliable news sources. It doesn't stop them from coming back if they're genuinely interested in facts.

You have to realize that 9% of people here do not have the intelligence and the background knowledge to become writers - quite apart from the command of language. They're writing because they want attention (affirmation for their ego) and money. Quite apart from that, they're not readers.

I am, primarily, a reader. I read for a good 5 hours per day, every single day of my life. I do not read how-to articles. If I want to know how to do something, I go to source - not to writers who offer me an opinion and don't generally have the skills and education to back it.
