Well, yes, they were. I was very much alive. And everwhere the newspapers (internationally) were focused on the 'ban the bra' movement. Years later, I discovered that this was supposed to be symbolic, but that was never what the media carried. Just these made women going braless and carrying their bras in their hands.

Even in the 50s, if you signed an anti-nuptial contract, you could sign for your own stuff. It depended on how you were married.

That said, I am still not a feminist. I have no time for pandering to minor issues when the world is burning.
