Well, when people ask me what I do for a living, I tell them I am a writer. Clearly, because so many people claim to be writers, but actually they are salesmen, event organisers, or whatever, there's a lot of suspicion out there about whether people are writers or not.

So the next question is 'Have you ever been published?" It used to irritate the hell out of me. Now I just arch an eyebrow and say 'Since 1962.'

I am good at writing - naturally talented, many tell me. I am not passionate about it. I do not bleed when I write. I find it easy. I do love writing. I also love dancing, swimming, travelling, photography, and so on and so forth.

I write for a living - to earn money. Being a writer is the title of a job. I am a writer. Some are actresses. Others are doctors...
