Well, thankfull, it righted itself. The day after I wrote this, I was finally able to delete those comments from my analytics, and start commenting again. I don't think any publication can reimburse people for comments.

In days past, though, when the print world existed, I could almost support myself on the winning letter to the editor. They used to give prizes.
