Well , not quite. I've run full scale into beaurqcracy. I went to the police station today and a charming young policeman gave me more help than everybody I've approached during the past month. He found me English speaking people with real telephone numbers that are not voicemails in German. :)

So let's see where that takes me. I also have an EU official calling me tomorrow morning in which I am going to ask them how I can get assistance as I'm an EU citizen.
