Well, if you don't think that religion is important and if you don't think someone's politics reflect their personal values, then you won't mind if you are in strong disagreement about them.

Personally, as someone's political views and 'religious' views tell me a lot about a person, they are very, very important to me. They might well love dancing as much as I do, but unfortunately, I wouldn't respect them if they voted for Donald Trump or wouldn't get vaccinated, etc.

I don't pretend to have any answers, and I have no interest in convincing anyone to believe what I believe. I'm just not interested in associating with them.

I'm perfectly happy to allow people to have abortions or not to have abortions, but when they start speaking to me about it being morally wrong to have an abortion, I have no interest in speaking to them. I don't put any limit on their right to make their own decisions in their life.

But I see no reason why I should have anything to do with them. We do have the right of association, don't we?
