Well, I suppose, Canada is a new world country as well. I just find it difficult to believe that cities were designed with a patriarchy in mind.

Patriarchy has existed for pretty much thousands of years. The old world basically has stores at the bottom and homes on top or they have homes in one street and shops in the next street. Everything is in very close proximity.
