Well, I guess unthinking parents teach their children that. I grew up in a global world, privately educated, and we were taught to speak up when there was injustice and stupidity.

The rest of the world did not shut up when South Africa had apartheid. They commented. The world is not quiet about Russia. Nobody should keep quiet.

One is not a guest when one is an immigrant. I don't know where you get that idea. I am not a guest when I live in various countries in the EU. I have a legal right to be there.

Every country has problems, but the only country in the entire world that makes claims that it is the leader, the bastion of freedom and perfection (when it has the highest per capita and the most prisoners in the entire world) is America.

The reason people are shocked is because they expected something better than their own countries, and it's not.
