Well, I get perved when a headline misleads me. I also find it patroning and irritating when wannabe writers thank me for reading.

I have been reading since 1959, and nowhere else do people thank one for reading.

I'm guessing that some ignoramus who doesn't read assumes that if the reader is thanked, then the readercwill feel a nice warm glow and come back and ead more.

Obvously, the idiot who thought that knows nothing about readers.

For future reference, if your headline misleads readers, they won't be reading you again.
