Well, I definitely write for money. As I've been published for 60 years, and I've won an award for two, I don't agree with that. I don't know any journalist or novelist who doesn't write for money. It's what we do to earn a living.

That said, when one writes what everybody else writes because one thinks it's going to be popular, yes, it does become inauthentic.
