Unlike others, when someone writes something negative about me, I don't respond emotionally. I look at it, determine if it's true or not. If it's true, I do something about it. If it's not, I put it down to jealousy, malice, or ignorance. People are allowed to judge other people's skills.

It doesn't occur to you that the half of Americans who are chronically depressed might be depressed that they were expecting stardom because everybody encouraged them, and then when they hit 40, it became apparent it wasn't going to happen?

The paragraph would never be written about me.
