Under apartheid, black people were not allowed to socialize with white people.Blackk people couldn't have sex with white people. They couldn't attend the same schools. They had different entrances to buildings for white people. These were actual laws. That is what apartheid was - a legal framework preventing people from mixing or coming into contact with each other.
Israel does not have apartheid.
Yes, I realize that the idiots who say that Israel is an apartheid state, because they think that Gaza is being governed by Israel - it isn't. There are no Jews in Gaza.
Nor is Israel responsible for anything that is happening in Gaza. They could have used the billions they have been given to get water from the Aquafer beneath them. They could have used the billions to farm land. They could have used the billions to buy gas from the Middle East. They did none of this. They invested those billions in building tunnels and buying weapons.
I recall the days when there was no wall between Gaza and Israel, and every single day there would be Palestinian suicide bombers in Israel killing people. So, sorry, I have no sympathy for them. You make your bed, and then you lie in it.
I'm curious as to what you mean by mistreatment of Mizrahi Jews. How are they mistreated? Does the government make laws against them?
People who are high achievers don't like mixing with people who are low achievers. The 29 years I spent working for other people, I was very badly treated. I accepted it as the norm. I knew I was at the bottom of the pecking order. Internationally, between 75% and 95% of people hate their jobs, depending on which country they live in. Why? Because they are treated badly. This is the norm.
Seventy percent of Israel is black. 30% are Ashkenazi Jews.
So, I'm curious. Apart from the fact that there has always been a class system amongst human beings, how is Israel any different? And why would you think that it's okay for every other country in the world to have a class system, but not Israel?
You said, "Would you say that black people in American enjoy the same rights in law as other American citizens? Yes? And do they in actuality enjoy the same rights? Perhaps not."
Yes, African Americans do have the same rights as other American citizens. And, yes, they do enjoy the same rights as other American citizens. What they do not have is popularity, status, acceptance, etc. and that's because of differences in culture. People like Morgan Freeman, Stanley Jackson, and other African Americans who have a higher status will tell you that there is no racism in America.
There isn't, but, of course, it depends how one defines racism. Does one define racism in laws? Or does one define racism in the way people treat other people.
Class differences lie at the bottom of all discrimination. Some people just think they are better than others (mistakenly), and other people are better than others, but seldom recognize it. Class exists, and I think what you are describing has more to do with class systems.
