Totally beyond me. My first articles were published in the early 60s. They were handwritten. I switched to a typewriter somewhere in the 70s. In the early 80s I switched to electronic or electric typwriters. In the 90s, I switched to wordprocessing.

Word processing has always kept a word tally. For the life of me, I cannot undertand why one would need anything other than MS Word or something similar.
