Totally agree with you. I was always well respected for my understanding of the principles with Judaism in the days I went to shul (My daughter’s batmitsvah). The thing is that living an ethical life ofte means we make less money and have less status. Most don’t want to give that up.

Also, we are socislized at a young age to believe certain things, and the more the community around us repeats those beliefs, the more difficult they are to let go.

I don’t have any answers.
