With respect, I have been writing on the web since 1999 (to earn a living), and every site I have worked on, only the top 5% generally reach payout of some sort (on Medium only 5% reach $100 in a month), and only one or two percent make a living. That figure is so ubiquitous on content writing sites that I have to figure that it is actually built in.
