Tim, you have a bee in your bonnet. As the writer, I can choose what I put in my stories, and what I select to omit. Leaving out the Chinese people's revolution is NOT a glaring oversight. It does not change the sense of what I'm saying by leaving it out.
UBI is not paid by any country on earth. There is no national UBI. UBI standds for UNIVERSAL, having one or two scattered programs in various countries (that come and go) is NOT UBI. These are studies to see how UBI turns out.
As I lived in America for 11 years, and as I was one of those recipients of food assistance, I know about them. That does not mean that people who receive them are not have-nots.
And as I've spent 40 years in my life in Africa, I'm well aware of hte difference between haves and have nots. I'm currently living in Europe.
I'm still waiting for your explanation of this comment. "UBI is not the only solution and probably not the best solution or we would see it being more prevalent world wide."
A universal basic income is paid to every person in the country. It is not prevalent at all. There is no country on this planet that pays a basic income (meaning a living wage) to every person in that country.. So please tell me what other system removes inequality?
