This is a quick apology to my readers. It has been brought to my attention that I make many errors in my writing. I’m sorry — I’m just exhausted at the end of writing an article, and my concentration by that time is gone. I will, in future, write in MS Word, so that I can see errors as they are highlighted.

There are several reasons for my errors.

  1. I type very quickly (100 wpm), and my fingers sometimes invert letters. So I would type ‘teh’ instead of ‘the’ or ‘lettres’ instead of ‘letters.’
  2. I reword things as I write, and sometimes I will leave a word from the way I had written it previously.
  3. I have spoken English in several different countries, and it is difficult for me remember which form of English belongs to which country. As I’m writing predominantly for Americans, I should write American English, but sometimes I don’t always know what the American English is, so I use South African English or British English. They just sneak in. For instance, I just found out that in the UK and the US, you write say ‘take a test.’ In South Africa, you say ‘write a test.’

Please always feel free to correct me if I have done something like that. I know it is irritating to readers, and it slows down the speed of reading. My apologies, again. I will try to do better in future.
