Thinking about it some more, an algorithm cannot affect human behaviour. It is just a piece of code.

If you are talking about the fact that a percentage of Amerucans belueved bullshit, that's Ameruca's fault. All the algoritm did waams locate who was susceptible to believung bullshit.

In other countries, peoe simply don't believe as much bs as people in the US and the UK do. Both populatiins have large numbers of people who were never properly educated and who were misinformed in many different ways through advertising, religion, snake oil salesman, etc. This is a direct result of culture and neoliberalinm.

No algorithm can make people believe something or do something.
