There's a social housing area in a small town in Germany that has had social housing since about 1500 AD. Can't remember the name of it. The cost was $1 a month when it started (or $1 a yaer), and it still costs that.

In return, the people who stay in the houses do 20 hours cmmunity service of some sort or another.

I have always thought that if we move to UBI, asking people to work 10 or 20 houurs per week in order to sustain our production of various goods should work out just fine.
