There is nothing in Judaism (that I know of) that speaks of life after death. Judaism deals with how we are to live on this earth, and that is it. Nor is there any mention of particular spiritual elevation. It is about living according to the precepts of being someone who does good deeds for all. By your deeds shall you be charged.
When it comes to forgiveness, you will remember that one of the disciples asked Jesus how long one must ask for another to forgive him - Jesus replied that until the person forgave him.
That is Judaism. We are to ask those people we wrong for forgiveness, and god will only forgive us when they forgive us. We are also to make reparation for all the wrong we do - unlike Christianity which gives one a get out of jail free card.
