There are nearly 8 billion people on this planet. There is enough machinery, technology, and resources to supply us all on a four hour or a six hour or no work at all for some people.

Why does it bother people that some don’t want to work? The rich are never blamed for not working. Many of them don’t work. They inherited buckets of money from their parents. Nobody has a problem with them not working.

The problem here is not that some don’t like work. The problem is that some think that they would pay less taxes if they weren’t contributing to the lives of others.

So, to me, there’s a very simple way of fixing that up. Make profit illegal. Then those who are driven by greed won’t rip off workers, and people who are devastated at the thought of being employed by thugs might go back to work.

I dropped out of work 25 years ago. I’m not alone. Between 75% and 95% of workers hate their jobs — depending on which country. Most people don’t want to go into the office anymore. They prefer to work at home.

The problem is not that people don’t want to be worked to death and in unpleasant surroundings. The problem is the people who think that they are entitled to pay people peanuts, expect them to work like slaves, not give them time off, etc.

So the human nature that needs to be fixed is the greed that drives the entrepreneurs. So they can certainly own their own companies. They can even pay themselves high salaries. What’ they’re not permitted to do is make year-end profits.

That would change the world.
