There are legal differences between genocide, terrorism, and war. In a war, there are citizen casualties.
During WWII, 5.5 million civilians died, where as 1 - 3 million soldiers died (in Germany).
Here are the statistics for civilian and military deaths in every country for WWII.
Terrorism is when one sets out specifically to murder people/kill people. That is what happened on October 7th. However, when Israel declared war, there was warning, and the civilian deaths are casualties of war. They are simply in the way of terrorists. That's because Hamas has used citizens to shelter his 'soldiers.'
During WWII, some 70 million people were killed - 2/3 of them civilians.

I am not justifying civilian deaths. I am pointing that that there has been no war ever where civilians have not been killed. This is what war is. War, as far as I am concerned, is a crime against humanity. However, people will always go to war - and if one is a realist, one has to understand that. Understanding something is not justifying it.
