To clarify, I wasn't talking about conservatives - I was talking about independents and center democrats. The people I am referring to are people I have interacted with, all outside of Medium, generally on social media. They are Democrats, but they will be voting for Trump.

Republicans understand the world very well. That's why they play the game the way they do. They know it's who gets to the goal post first. They know it's survival of the fittest. Democrats want the world to be different, and they're trying desperately to make it different. However, the universal law of Mother Nature is survival of the fittest/best adapted.

With regard to LGBT - on social media, the main issues are about LGBT issues and rejection of illegal immigration. Of course, the GOP are slagging off at Dems, and the Dems are slagging off at the GOP. These are not just American issues.

Essentially, if the Democrats want to win, they have to play the game with Republican rules. There is no other way.
