The term 'writer's block' came from a comedy movie about 70 years ago, I can't remember the name of the movie. However it was considered funny because there was no such thing - just as there is no such thing as doctor's block, brickmaker's block, or swimmer's block.

There’s a very simple explanation why if one wants to write and the words don’t done. It’s that one simply has nothing to say.

I am 72 years old, and my first work was published in in 1962. I have written most days of my life, and I have never, never, never had writer’s block. People who write for a living or who are established authors don’t have writer’s block. That’s because they always have something to say.
