The one common denominator of people who don't earn on medium is that they blog - they don't write feature articles. If a print magazine won't pay you for your article, then it probably won't work on Medium.

Blogging is about sharing your life with others. Writing is about picking a topic (climate change, fishing, geography, economics, physics, sex), and talking about that while presenting new data to your readers.
